    1985 music?
     While I don't think that it all is, I think that at least part of the 1985 video uses music from the musical Cats. It's not one that I've even listened to the whole thing, so that's why I can't verify.

    Anyone else have an opinion out there in Livejournal land?

    Holiday Festival on Ice on SRC
     SRC is showing HFOI Dec. 24 from 7pm to 8h30. At least is 30 minutes longer than the CBC Version !!!!

     It appears to have just happened, but it seems like the server hosting the Kurt Files is down *again*. I'm kinda annoyed. My apologies to everyone who was looking for Lake Placid reviews or anything like that. Hopefully the server will come back up soon.

     I know I've been doing a terrible job of doing *anything* with this blog (which is partly b/c I can't figure out what to post here after I'm done posting on the website and the mailing list) but I don't really mean for it to die, so sorry about that. I hope all the Americans out there are having a very Happy Thanksgiving with lots of good eating.

    I'm going to post the current TV schedule I've got for Kurt. All this information is obviously up on my website but it's probably organized a little more logically here:

    Nov. 26 - Today Show - 7-10AM EST - NBC
    Nov. 28 - Kristi Yamaguchi's Salute to American Music - 4-6PM EST - NBC
    Dec. 3 - Ice Wars - 9-11PM EST - CBS
    Dec. 8 - Kurt Browning's Gotta Skate IV - 9-10PM EST - CBC (Canada)
    Dec. 11 - World Team Challenge Pt. 1 - 1-3PM EST - TSN (Canada)
    Dec. 11 - World Team Challenge Pt. 2 - 7-9PM EST - TSN (Canada) (check
    listings, IMG said 6-9PM but I'm skeptical)
    Dec. 15 - Holiday Festival on Ice - 9-10PM EST - CBC (Canada)
    Dec. 18 - World Team Challenge - 7-11PM EST - Oxygen (USA)
    Dec. 19 - Kurt Browning's Gotta Skate IV - 4-6PM EST - NBC

For example (I'm making this up), NBC 3, Dec. 20, 8-9PM PST, SF Bay Area. That way hopefully other people in your area will know when and where to look for it.

    Random Kurt-related articles that don't actually have Kurt content
     Long subject line but it says it all. Here's some articles having to do with events Kurt's in this year that don't actually have Kurt content, in case anyone's interested:

    The Patriot-News has an article on Kristi Yamaguchi to promote Kristi's Salute to American Music show tomorrow night: New mama Yamaguchi skates into area.

    Also, here's a SOI press release.

    Incidentally, the SOI Ticketmaster Internet pre-sale ends tomorrow. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Mon. Nov. 8.

    Also, if you're a US citizen, you can enter the Smuckers VIP Promotion for a trip for 6 to anywhere in the US for a 3 day/2 night trip to watch SOI plus a whole slew of other goodies (this is for the 2005-2006 tour). Thanks so much Donna!

    A couple of Kurt TV alerts
     I just wanted to remind everyone that SRC will broadcast Kurt's "Gotta Skate" show tomorrow afternoon at 3:30-5pm EST (thanks, Tpangner!) TSN also announced during their Skate Canada coverage that they will broadcast the World Team Challenge on Dec. 11, but I don't think the broadcast time has been confirmed yet. Happy Halloween! :)

     Hi all! Anybody know when this is set to air? If it was mentioned at the show, I don't recall, and the CBC's website is not terribly helpful. *Please* tell me I didn't miss it!

    Kurt mention during 2004 Skate America coverage
     Hi, everybody! It's me, Kirsten. :) I don't know how many people are watching this afternoon's Skate America coverage, but Dick Button mentioned Kurt briefly during Evan Lysacek's LP: "For this program, keep in mind Gene Kelly and Kurt Browning, both of whom made magic out of Singin' In The Rain." I just thought it was really cool to hear Kurt's tribute to Gene Kelly mentioned in the same breath as the original. :)

     Hello, is anybody there? there... there...

    Not very exciting, but a few more attempts at icons. There's something about Kurt in that "Blues After Hours" program that makes me think of being alone. Maybe b/c I'm home alone right now =). At any rate...




    Obviously I couldn't figure out what to say on the chair one. And I'm not sure I love the magic feet one. But what can you do. I've got no icon space for these but if anyone wants to use them, go ahead, just tell me and credit me (kbteenes) in the keywords.

    Whee! New icon!
     Hee hee, check out my new icon:



    I know there aren't too many people in this community yet, this is open to anyone who visits. Let's make some icons! Take your favorite Kurt pictures and make some 100x100 icons for Kurt fans to use.

    If you're not familiar with user pictures on Livejournal, the basic criteria is that the picture must be a .GIF, .JPG, or .PNG, the actual picture can be no larger than 100x100 pixels, and the file size cannot be greater than 40kb. The image file must be on your local computer, or be accessible via a URL. You can use photo programs like Photoshop to generate these icons. There's no time frame on this, it's just a fun topic. When you've got new icons, either link to them in comments to this topic or post your own topic! We need some new pics to brighten up this place.

    Hee hee. Sorry, my icon just tickles me. Gonna stare at it a little longer =).

    Kurt Files down
     My apologies, but it appears that the server hosting The Kurt Files (and the Kurt List) is down. Hopefully it'll go back up soon. Wouldn't you know this would happen the day after I posted all those photos?

    ETA: I just contacted the site administrator, who unfortunately is not physically located near the server. He's not sure why the server went down but someone is supposed to go check on it later today. Hopefully it'll be back up by the end of the day, but depending on the magnitude of the problem, may go up tomorrow. Once again, I'm really sorry for the inconvenience.

    Edited again 10/20 to add: Yay! The site is back up! Sorry again!

    Gotta Skate IV Act I Photo Sampling
     A new camera with a new lens and its usual accompanying problems - obviously I need to figure out how to set this properly and use the camera properly, which means my pictures are not of as good quality as I would have liked. Dang. Still, got reasonably decent shots. It's much much much too late now to do the actual cropping and deleting required, much less the code to put these pics up on my website, so for now, here are just a sampling of approximately one photo per program from tonight's show to tide people over. I'm splitting these up into Act I and Act II b/c there are too many photos to put in one post. I may edit this later with music information, I'm too tired now to remember in most cases, though most of the time I didn't know the music. Warning, this may be somewhat slow to load, since there are 13 640x426 photos per post.

    Welcome to the Kurt Browning Blog!
     Hello, and welcome to the Kurt Browning blog!

    This is a community for all fans of the figure skater Kurt Browning to come together and share news, photos, articles, reviews, links, general discussion, anything that may be of interest to a Kurt Browning fan, new or old. The idea is to have something that's of a bit looser structure than either a message board or a mailing list (like the Kurt List) where fans can share their favorite stuff having to do with Kurt. It's also a place where I and others can post public news updates when I can't access my website (and for people to know when I have updated my website) The Kurt Files.

    You must have a Livejournal account to join and post, but those are free and easy to get if you don't have one. Anyone can comment on the posts, though. If you have any questions, hop on over to [info]kbteenes and ask away.

    To get us started, I'll just post ( Kurt's 2004-2005 schedule as I know it so far )
